Andy is a seasoned corporate banker, who has an outstanding 20+ years career with HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. He last held the position of Managing Director, Head of Sales and Relationship Management for the commercial banking teams at Standard Chartered Hong Kong, taking charge hundreds of Mid-Market client groups.

 

Andy dedicated most of his career in client coverage. Through the years of coverage experience, Andy has established an extensive network with the C-suite decision-makers at leading corporates, and Ultra High Networth Investors from prominent families in Hong Kong, many of which are on the Richest List of Forbes.

 

Commercial Real Estate is always a popular asset class among Ultra High Net Worth investors in Hong Kong. Andy has been active and a market leader in CRE financings for Commercial Banking clients. In his final 5-year period at StanChart alone, Andy oversaw transactions for USD4 Billion+ projects, spanning from multi-families, commercial and retail developments and investment properties, using various financing means, which include property development/investment loans on a bilateral or syndicated basis, bonds, as well as through principal finance investment.

 

Andy's teams were best known for their innovation in providing many market first solutions, and led Clients' debut transactions in Structured Finance, Capital and Financial Markets. Their transaction for the CVC/Hong Kong Broadband buyout was named as the "Best Leveraged Buyout Financing", by AsiaMoney in 2012. In light of Andy’s leadership position in Commercial Banking, he was named “Nine Top Corporate Bankers you need to know in Hong Kong” by the eFinancialCareers in 2017.

Before setting up A50 Real Assets Limited, Andy was the CEO of Circle Property Development Limited, a leading private Hong Kong-based company, that holds more than 1 million square feet of premium residential and commercial real estate space in Hong Kong, London, Shanghai, and Macau. Andy also previously acted as the Director and Responsible Officer of A50 Capital Partners Ltd, an SFC licensed firm in Hong Kong for Type 9 (Asset Management) regulated activities in 2020.

Andy holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the City University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Arts degree in Management Science from the University of Kent in the UK. Before becoming a banker, Andy was educated in Production and Industrial Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic.

 

In his spare hours, Andy also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the City University of Hong Kong, a QS/THE Global Top 100 university, where he shares his experience with the EMBA class on Corporate Debt Strategies, Family Office, Wealth Management, and Innovation and Succession issues of Family Business.

Andy is also currently an Independent Non Executive Director of Leo Paper Group, one of the largest paper products manufacturers in Asia.
